NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory Field Trip

Here are some pictures from our NASA JPL Field Trip.  We were so privileged to be able to go to such an amazing place and learn about the different JPL-created robots exploring our universe!  Maybe one day some of you will design rovers...
Our class in front of a full-scale model of the Curiosity Mars Rover

Learning about the Curiosity Mars Rover.  Curiosity is a robot geologist and geochemist! How cool is that? We learned about the twin cameras (for 3D images), the aluminum wheels (with JPL in morse code embedded into the treads) and many other things.

In front of a full-scale model of Galileo, which orbited and studied Jupiter

Future NASA Scientists?

A full-scale model of the twin Mars rovers, Spirit & Opportunity

Infrared technology! We learned about that during science, didn't we? (blue = coolest, white= warmest)

More future NASA Scientists?

Students! Don't forget to visit the JPL website.  http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/  On the website you can do so many cool things including:
--Watch videos of the Curiosity Rover landing on Mars
--Make your own models of real robots with scissors and paper
--Play a game that lets you design your own planet
--And MANY other games and activities
