We went from vinegar, to water, to salt water, and now to a mixture of food coloring and water.

Membrane

Although we lost a precious member of our egg community today, Ally's egg has taught us what a membrane looks like through its untimely death.  In other news, Ally has adopted Haley C.'s orphaned egg.

EggSperiment

The purpose of this lab is to determine how the circumference of the egg increases, decreases, or stays the same as we submerge it in various liquids. This will relate to our discussion of diffusion, osmosis, and active transport in regards to cell membranes. :)

Day 1: submerging our eggs into vinegar

Day 4: Circumference increased.  By 1-2 cm average. Removed eggs from vinegar, submerged into plain water
